BYRDS is the British Young Riders Dressage Scheme
Cornwall BYRDS welcomed several new members this autumn, some who have started as fledglings. The standard is improving with several now in the A or B squad.The South West has enjoyed much success at Talent Spotting with Clemmie Moore, Charlotte Ward and Holly Deacon all winning their qualifying sections. Charlotte was second in the final, having led up until the last ride off. We hold a talent spotting practise day which gives our members a good grounding in this competition. Again this year several of our members have represented the SW. And gone to Ireland also.
Claire Moir the British Dressage BYRDS rep will be with us at Tall Trees to judge the squad tests in February. It is important for all members to attend, even if they do not want to upgrade, as this is a good opportunity for Claire to see members who wish to go on teams. Anyone wishing to be considered for teams must register their interest with Deirdre Scrimgeour or Claire Moir.
Here are the dates for training days 2008 all at Tall Trees.
5 Jan....test riding day, Helen Sisson & Nicky du Plessis. Mary McGinley judging squad tests.
15 Feb....Squad testing with Claire Moir. Talk by vet Keiran O’Brien.
4 April....Music
29 May....to include Talent Spotting practise.
