CDG Open Unaffiliated Competitions are held so that riders can assess their stage of training by riding in front of a Judge. They are run according to British Dressage rules & use tests at various levels and in both short and long arenas. For 2010 Freestyle to Music classes will have sections for 20x40m & 20x60m format. We aim to provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere suitable for everyone including those riders and horses starting out on a competitive career. The schedules are on the web site, available from venues or by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the CDG Secretary.

This  section of the web site contains the schedule for all three 2010 CDG shows  and the entry forms which are specific to each show.

There were 59 entries on 27 June with the highest mark going to Alexandria Watts on Miners Drum  who scored  73.8% in Novice 22 and also won

Prelim 15. Close behind were Sue Mawer on Smiler with 72.5% in Prelim 7 and Mollie Trethewey, one of two Junior members competing, who was 1st & 2nd in the Take Your Pick class winning it with 70.0% at Elementary 43 level on Prospects Diamond. Roland Hardman was heard to say early in the day that he was hoping to break the 60% barrier - he came second in Prelim 7 on 69.5% and also got 61.7% in Prelim 15. Barbara Makin won the Music Freestyle class on Lantyan Lucky Chance with 67.8%

We look forward to seeing a similarly large entry at Nance Cottage on the next two show Sundays in August and September.

None of the Group’s events could be held without the help of those members, friends and families who, on the day, do not compete themselves but run the event, nor without the judges So this is a little tribute to the people who keep the wheels (hooves!) turning. Very many thanks to you all!
